CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments like hadron collider are used to study the basic constituents of matter — the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.
An animated zoom in from the universe to the centre of an atom. Dr Tara Shears explains how one of science’s greatest achievements is to have accurately measured everything from the size of the universe to the diameter of a quark and how all these things are connected by the Big Bang. Even though science is discovering more on big bang that these are big crunches and big bounces instead of big bang. We must update our knowledge.
Personally i found that Why science Project Website:- http://whyscience.co.uk is the web site run by Alom Shaha (A great physics Teacher in my opinion) in UK trying hard to explain the necessity and understanding the science rather its need for just passing the exams. This is also a so good documentary done by Alom Shaha.
