CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments like hadron collider are used to study the basic constituents of matter — the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.
An animated zoom in from the universe to the centre of an atom. Dr Tara Shears explains how one of science’s greatest achievements is to have accurately measured everything from the size of the universe to the diameter of a quark and how all these things are connected by the Big Bang. Even though science is discovering more on big bang that these are big crunches and big bounces instead of big bang. We must update our knowledge.
Personally i found that Why science Project Website:- http://whyscience.co.uk is the web site run by Alom Shaha (A great physics Teacher in my opinion) in UK trying hard to explain the necessity and understanding the science rather its need for just passing the exams. This is also a so good documentary done by Alom Shaha.

Picture Of Light is an hallucinatory tale which documents a filmmaker’s journey to Canada’s arctic in search of the Northern Lights. While combining glimpses of the characters who live in this remote environment and the crew’s both comic and absurd attempts to deal with extremes, the film reflects upon the paradoxes involved in trying to capture the natural wonder of the Northern Lights on celluloid…aurora borealis… the lights with no bodies, pouring colours from the sky… images provided by nature more special than any special effect… Their majesty and mystery lead the film to a most unexpected and haunting finale which considers the future of our relationship to technology and Nature, in an increasingly artificial or “virtual” world…

Documentary in which Joanna Lumley travels across the Artic Circle and through Norway to pursue a life-long dream seeing the Northern Lights. Sat 2 Jan 2010, BBC HD.
This documentary shows the travel of a curious lady Joanna Lumley for Northern Lights. And when she finally see the Northern Lights feels one of the happiest lady on the mystic earth.
We are very excited to know more about the exact constitution of our Universe and galaxies. And thats why trying to find out the origin of Universe. Dr Tara Shears explains why scientists think that most of the mass in the universe is made up of something we can’t see & how a new experiment called the Large Hadron Collider might finally tell us exactly what this “Dark Matter” is. We are very hopeful to LHC experiment and the results out of this experiment. In a matter of fact we can trace out about this dark matter which is also referred in prehistoric or ancient cultures of world. This is an awesome news that we once again started finding it. This will make more balance in our evolution process because this time missing constituent will kept in mind.

Equal amounts of matter & antimatter were created at the birth of the universe but there’s very little of it around today. Dr Tara Shears explains why this is one of the greatest mysteries in science & how it might be solved by the biggest experiment in history.
P.S: Tara Shears is a particle physicist and Royal Society University Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool. Since obtaining her PhD in 1995 she has worked on experiments at CERN, the European Centre for Particle Physics, in Switzerland, and at Fermilab in America. Her research interests focus on the properties of bottom quarks and the light they may throw on new fundamental particles and interactions.

In year 2008 at TED professor Stephen Hawking raised few questions, like How did the universe begin? How did life begin? Are we alone? And you can find answers to these questions in detail from the documentaries broadcast by Discovery Channel. Although these questions are often asked by the people who initiate their self into meditation and spiritual direction.
The titles of these documentaries are as follows:
1) The Story of Everything by Stephen Hawking
2) Aliens by Stephen Hawking
3) Time Travel by Stephen Hawking
These documentaries are so far magnum opus in space related videos.
A documentary on “Aurora Borealis” the so called The Northern Lights directed by Alan Booth reveals the historical and modern beliefs of Aurora at polar reasons especially where generations are eye witness of this Mystical and strange phenomenon.
We are living in a culture in which time is detected by our own body clocks, which are called biochemical clocks influenced by light and darkness and the sleep of individual changes according to these clocks. So what we need to understand is the our sleep system in revised manner and rethink to improve our performance with the modification under the conditions of light surrounding us.
